i800 Series Firmware Drivers

Release Notes for i800 firmware version 1.1.1 (original shipping approval) to 3.10.0

Note: If your application requires image files to have a line length which is padded to 32 bits, you will need to apply this patch to your scanner after installing FW 3.10.0. This IS NOT a mandatory patch. Only use this patch if your application does not display/process images correctly after upgrade. To install this patch, use SVT - TWAIN - Setup - Download. Once installed, this patch will remain resident on the scanner CPU board. It will need to be reinstalled if your CPU board is replaced. This patch would also need to be applied to all new scanners. Please keep a copy of this patch so that it is available at your site.

Before downloading new firmware to the scanner, please download and install the latest version of the SVT tool. After installing the latest SVT on your Host PC, then return to this page, to upgrade the Firmware as follows:

Installation Instructions

Click and download the file to a temporary directory on your C drive.
Double click on the file to extract the firmware package file. By default, the file is put into the correct firmware directory.
Next, use the Scan Validation Tool - TWAIN to download the K800_CPU_xxxxxx.ekpgfw file from the directory selected in the previous step. You will find the Download button under the Setup tab of the SVT.
After the download has completed, power the scanner off, and then back on. The Firmware version can be checked by selecting the "Info" tab of the SVT or the "i" key of on the scanner operator control panel.

i800 Series Software Drivers

Both the TWAIN data source and the ISIS driver for the i800 Series Scanners are bundled into the Scan Validation Tool (SVT). You must install the SVT to access the drivers. You can download the most recent version here.

Versions included in the SVT:

TWAIN data source 6.65.9 for the i800 Series Scanners. Microsoft VISTA Compliant.
ISIS driver 1.0.10708.24001 for the i800 Series Scanners. Microsoft VISTA Compliant.

Brightness and Contrast Control

The Brightness and Contrast Control allows the user to create custom color tables which can be downloaded to the i800 Series Scanner, providing more flexibility and ease of use.

Integration

The Kodak TWAIN Integrator Kit contains contains information required to write TWAIN enabled applications for Kodak Alaris' document scanners. This documentation includes custom CAPablities and header files for the Kodak Data Source. This file also contains information on the custom properties exposed by Kodak Alaris' WIA driver.

NOTES:

Lack of Microsoft support for ASPI on 64bit operating systems prevents this SCSI scanner from supporting any 64bit Windows versions.
There is an untested SANE backend for this scanner (www.sane-project.org)
